Abstract : The strength and composition of the domestic wastewater varies based on the time of the day, activities, and season. The waste depends upon the living style of the inmates, the quantity of water consumption, eating habits, and the standard of living. The waste water called grey water is categorized with a musty smell and content of solid matter. The solid matter is a mixture of grease, oil, food remains, soaps, salts, feces, detergents, metals, sand, and grit. The solid may be suspended or dissolved consisting of chemical and biological processes. The suspended solid can lead to sludge formation which can get deposited leading to anaerobic conditions in the sewage chamber.
