Abstract : The distribution of population is shaped by an intricate interaction of several elements, such as natural circumstances, economic prospects, social phenomena, and governmental actions. These parameters dictate the levels of population concentration or dispersion in different regions, resulting in issues such as excessive population growth in metropolitan areas and population decline in rural or underdeveloped regions. An analysis of the determinants of population distribution and the difficulties linked to overpopulation and depopulation in particular regions is undertaken in this research. This paper critically examines the existing research on population dynamics, identifies the main influencers, and provides tables that summarize the findings of factor analysis and the specific issues faced in different regions. The results emphasize the necessity of implementing focused policy measures to tackle the exceptional difficulties posed by overpopulation and depopulation.
