Abstract : The escalating sea levels, caused by climate change and the degradation of polar ice, present a substantial peril to coastal communities and ecosystems on a global scale. This scholarly article analyses the effects of increasing sea levels on coastal areas, with a specific emphasis on the environmental, economic, and social ramifications. This paper critically examines the existing body of knowledge on sea level rise, emphasizing the main factors that contribute to it, anticipated consequences, and methods of adaptation. Furthermore, it provides statistics that outline the impacts on different coastal ecosystems, the financial expenses associated with sea level rise, and the susceptibilities of various coastal communities. The results underscore the pressing necessity for adaptive strategies, such as coastal fortifications, ecological rehabilitation, and community resilience development, to alleviate the consequences of increasing sea levels.
