Abstract : Judicial rulings significantly impact political processes and governance, including policies, the distribution of power among governmental branches, and public opinions of the legal system. By analyzing significant decisions in different political systems and their subsequent consequences on policy and institutional dynamics, this article investigates the influence of court decisions on political processes and governance. This paper critically examines the existing body of knowledge on judicial influence in democracies, hybrid regimes, and autocracies. It emphasizes the role of courts in serving as mechanisms to restrain executive and legislative authority. In order to assess the influence of important court decisions on political outcomes, such as policy changes and government stability, the research incorporates a statistical test utilizing difference-in-differences (DiD) technique. The results emphasize the extensive yet diverse function of court rulings in political administration, which is contingent upon the legal structure, institutional autonomy, and political environment.
