Abstract : According to Smardzewski, 2015 at the start of human history, when the notion of furniture was unknown, man employed diverse items generated spontaneously by nature in a natural fashion, driven only by the desire to make life simpler. A wind-felled tree trunk or a flat stone block functioned as a seat, a flat stone block served as a basis for completing a range of routine tasks, and soft moss or woolen skins served as a bed. Artifacts began to be created over time as a consequence of human creativity, replacing the previously described spontaneously created items. Their shapes varied over the years as a result of the preferences of the cultures that existed at the time. New forms of furniture were developed to perform certain purposes such as sitting, lying down, working, dining, storing, and so on. The very first move towards established living was achieved when prehistoric man began to build a dwelling to fulfill his requirements. The emergence of individual family units resulted in the formation of private furniture in one's own home, but the genesis of furniture of any kind began with communal furniture, similar to the way families had started in tribes. The usage of furniture signified that people desired to dwell permanently in one location, and the sort of furniture they chose represented the type of life they desired. Our individual needs have led to the many sorts of furniture we have in our houses today. These needs may be essentially categorized as a place to sit down, a place to lie down, a place to work and eat, and a place to keep their belongings. (Gandotra et al., 2010)
