Abstract : An overview of building services in interior design entails understanding the critical systems that operate within a building, ensuring functionality, comfort, and safety. These services encompass various elements integral to interior spaces, such as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), electrical systems, lighting, plumbing, fire safety, and technological integration.Building services play a vital role in shaping the functionality and aesthetics of interior spaces. For instance, HVAC systems maintain optimal temperature and air quality, providing comfort to occupants. Electrical systems and lighting design contribute to ambiance and functionality, while plumbing systems ensure water supply and drainage efficiency. Moreover, fire protection systems and safety measures guarantee occupants' well-being, complying with safety codes and regulations. Integrating technology and automation within buildings enhances convenience and efficiency, making spaces more interactive and responsive. Understanding these building services is crucial for interior designers as they collaborate with architects, engineers, and service professionals. It enables designers to create holistic and efficient interior spaces, considering the seamless integration of these services for a comprehensive and user-friendly design.
