Abstract : The continuous evolution of packaging materials has been pivotal in addressing the ever-growing challenges associated with food preservation and safety. Polymeric nanocomposites and nanocoatings have emerged as promising solutions to enhance the performance of traditional food packaging. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the recent developments in polymeric nanocomposites and nanocoatings, highlighting their specific properties and significance in the context of food packaging. We explore the potential of these advanced materials to extend shelf life, improve barrier properties, and mitigate environmental impacts.
