Abstract : The Greek words "rheuma" (nominative) and "rheumatos" (genitive) are the origin of rheumatoid arthritis. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease with unknown causes that is characterized by symmetrical joint involvement. It is an autoimmune condition in which the body's own tissues are unintentionally attacked by the patient's immune system. In unani medicine, Wajaul Mafasil was the term used to describe all joint ailments.
