Abstract : The physiological changes that occur during general anaesthesia include reversible loss of response to painful stimuli, loss of consciousness, and loss of motor and autonomic reflexes. The inhibition of reticular formation activity is linked to loss of consciousness. Inhalation or intravenous anaesthetics are used to administer general anaesthetics. They are divided into two categories based on how they are administered: inhalation and intravenous anaesthetics.

Keywords : Noradrenaline, Dopamine, 5-HT, Acetylcholine, GABA, Glycine.
